Behind the Scenes – How an ArtFigu Resin Lamp Is Made
Every handmade product carries a hidden story—the quiet hours, careful hands, and love that bring it to life. At ArtFigu, our epoxy resin lamps are not just designed; they are crafted in small batches by Vietnamese artisans who pour their heart into every detail.
For our customers in the United States and Canada, we want to share what truly happens behind the scenes—how a block of transparent resin becomes a glowing piece of art.
Step 1: The Idea – Where Art Meets Emotion
Every lamp begins with an emotion: peace, wonder, nostalgia, or light itself.
Our design team sketches themes inspired by nature, fantasy, and pop culture—like Lord of the Rings forests, How to Train Your Dragon skies, or the golden trees of Elden Ring.
Each lamp is meant to capture a moment in time—a world frozen in resin.
Step 2: Hand-Pouring the Resin
This is where patience meets precision.
Resin must be poured in several layers, with exact timing and ratios of pigment. A single misstep—too fast, too hot, too much color—can ruin the clarity or shape.
We use high-grade clear epoxy imported from Japan for crystal transparency, ensuring light passes through every layer naturally.
Between pours, the resin is left to cure for hours, sometimes days, before the next layer begins.
Step 3: Sculpting the Miniature Scene
Here’s where the magic happens. Inside each lamp, we hand-place miniature elements:
-
Tiny trees, mountains, or dragons sculpted by hand.
-
Painted backdrops or metallic swirls that simulate sky and depth.
-
Natural wood bases, shaped and polished for each design.
Every piece is arranged manually, no automation. That’s why no two lamps ever look the same.
Step 4: Curing, Sanding, and Polishing
Once the resin has hardened, the block goes through hours of sanding and polishing.
The goal: perfect transparency and smooth texture.
Artisans work carefully with five different sandpaper grades to bring out the glow, then finish with a fine wax polish for a glass-like surface.
When light finally passes through, you can see every detail suspended in time.
Step 5: Lighting and Assembly
Each lamp is fitted with a warm LED base designed for long life and low heat.
The light source is chosen to complement the resin’s color—amber for gold tones, white for galaxy themes, and neutral for forest scenes.
Finally, the piece is tested in a dark room to ensure the glow feels soft and emotional, not harsh.
Step 6: Final Touch – Packaging with Heart
Before shipping to the US or Canada, every lamp is wrapped carefully in eco-friendly packaging with a handwritten note from the artist.
Many customers tell us that opening an ArtFigu package feels like receiving a gift, not just a product—and that’s exactly what we aim for.
Why We Share This
Because handmade means transparency.
When you buy a resin lamp from ArtFigu, you’re not just getting décor—you’re supporting real people, real craftsmanship, and real passion.
Each lamp you see online represents hours of handwork in our small Vietnamese studio.
And when it lights up your home in America or Canada, that’s our art shining with you.
